MORGXN ANNOUNCES FULL STUDIO ALBUM ‘BEACON;’ DROPS SINGLE & VIDEO “MY REVIVAL”

Nashville’s alt-pop powerhouse MORGXN announces his upcoming studio album BEACON with anthemic new single “My Revival.”

BEACON is MORGXN’s third-studio album. The album features previously released title track “Beacon,” along with dance hit “Modern Man” and the uplifting “Young & In Love.” Last year, in a self-imposed act of tough love, the artist did the unthinkable: He moved back to Tennessee. “I’ve got a hit song called ‘home’ that’s sending me around the world, and yet I was terrified of going home,” says MORGXN, who wrote and recorded all of BEACON from his hometown (the title track was even penned on his childhood piano).

The lead-up to making BEACON was a rush of creativity for MORGXN. He began with more than 100 songs, whittling them down to the most powerful tracks, with help from producer Marshall Altman (Natasha Bedingfield, Matt Nathanson, Citizen Cope). “We recorded it with a band, which I’ve never done before. It’s real musicians playing the songs. Real strings! It’s not synthetically created in a laboratory, dude,” MORGXN says. The energy is palpable, and at many moments, joyous. “And there’s a choir! With my first album, I was told I could not record a choir on my song ‘home.’” Of course, he did it anyways, by gathering friends to sing in his living room. “But for this record, I wasn’t playing — I put a choir on almost every song!”

Today’s release, “My Revival,” featuring said choir, embodies the essence of his journey as an independent artist. It beautifully captures the idea that sometimes, our greatest revivals come after a period of adversity.

“Sometimes revivals come after the fall. When I went independent in 2020 I had no idea my music would take off in such a way — performing it on television and streaming over 100 million times. But something in me knew that the journey had just begun, and I knew that I had to make this record in my hometown – in a way I had never done before,” says MORGXN.

“My Revival,” a pivotal track from his upcoming album, draws inspiration from Joseph Campbell’s “Hero’s Journey.” Crafted alongside songwriters Ryan Daly and Gary Go, who contributed to the hit “Wonder” and produced by Ruslan Odnoralov and Marshall Altman, this song serves as a beacon of hope and transformation in MORGXN’s musical voyage.
