Montreal Electronic Producer Anomalie Shares the Beat-Driven New Single “Dribble”

December 10, 2021 BY Nettwerk

After making waves with fiery single & mesmerizing video “Bond,” Montreal-based electronic producer Nico Dupuis aka Anomalie, shares a new beat-driven song “Dribble.” With a glitchy, stutter-step backbeat and lightning-fast piano licks, Anomalie shows his ultimate versatility. He blurs the lines between modern jazz and lo-fi/hip-hop sounds, tied together with an electronic-R&B atmosphere. Hear “Dribble” on all digital retailers (here).

“’Dribble’ is the second instrumental single off my upcoming album,” shares Nico. The name comes from how the song sounds – it felt bouncy like a basketball and kind of fluid like a stream of water. Arrangement-wise there are a few synths here and the drums are still very much at the center of the track, but it’s really all about the upright piano.

As it was the case for the first single, “Bond”, the track’s main theme is one I’ve had in my head for a while but it really started making sense to me once I was able to explore different variations of it on the upright which, as a recent acquisition, really influenced the direction I’m taking with the whole project!”

Last month, Anomalie announced the ‘Galerie World Tour’ which kicks off in Dallas, TX at Deep Ellum Art Company on May 18th and continues throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and the UK. Check the full list of tour dates below and find tickets on sale now at:

Anomalie is the music project of Nicolas Dupuis, a keyboardist and producer based in Montreal, QC.

Rising to worldwide fame after the release of his two EPs, Metropole Part I and Part II, Anomalie has developed a distinct and instantly recognizable musical identity. His style innovatively combines cutting-edge electronic production, jazz and classical harmonies, virtuoso keyboard skills, and an undeniably raw funk groove connecting it all together. This places his career in a singular position. His public cosigns include an eclectic mix of music heavyweights (Charlie Puth, Chromeo, D Smoke, and Snarky Puppy), and his fanbase is a mix of the new jazz scene (Louis Cole, Keifer), the soulful beats scene (FKJ, Masego, Tom Misch), and the post-dubstep electronic scene (Griz, Odesza, Opiuo).

By the end of 2020, Anomalie sold out two world tours (North America, European, and Asia) with his intricate 4-piece live band, grew his online following in the millions across social media, and performed at the likes of Red Rocks, Montreal Jazz Festival, and Electric Forest Festival.
