Milk & Bone Unleash ‘A Little Lucky’ New EP Produced by Chromeo; Opening for Chromeo @ Sold-out Webster Hall Show Tonight
December 5, 2025 BY Emma Orland
TODAY, the Electrifying Canadian duo, Camille Poliquin and Laurence Lafond–Beaulne known as Milk & Bone, are excited to unleash their thunderous new EP entirely produced by fellow Montreal duo Chromeo, A Little Lucky. To celebrate the news of the release, Milk & Bone hosted an official EP release and listening party at Public Records in Brooklyn last night, and are excited to be opening for Chromeo TONIGHT at their sold–out show in New York at Webster Hall.
A Little Lucky came to be in 2019 after Milk & Bone won ‘Electronic Album of the Year’ at the Juno Awards for their sophomore album, Deception Bay. Following an emotional speech of recognition (completely unprepared), they spoke about overcoming mental health struggles in the music industry, and the girls ran into fellow Montreal duo Chromeo (Nominated for Group of the Year) in a lucky escalator meet-cute.
“Hey, congrats! We should do something together!” Dave1 extends.
The girls in agreement: “Absolutely” (Internally freaking out)
After a calculated 24-hour period, Milk & Bone reaches out to Chromeo over a DM, and the story of A Little Lucky begins. The first session occurred in Los Angeles at the Chromeo studio. One thing to note is that by this time, it’s 2020. The idea of crossing a border and hopping on a plane, which seemed exciting and straightforward a few months back before COVID-19, had become terrifying and anxiety-inducing. “Should they even go?” It hurt to ask the question because the answer was obviously yes, but everything was yelling no.
After a few rescheduled obligations and the world slowly beginning to open again, Milk & Bone land in LA.
The two duos created the core of the four songs that comprise the collaborative EP in four days. Their musical universes merged perfectly, with Milk & Bone focusing on songwriting while Chromeo worked on production. It was clear this would be a bouncy and analog approach to Milk & Bone’s melancholic indie pop.
A few trips to LA later and countless messages sent via WhatsApp to approve new vocal cuts and tweaks on the mix, A Little Lucky is ready for take off and has arrived.
A Little Lucky features the thrilling single, “Hoops,” which dove into the push and pull between moments of isolation, self-preservation, and the desire to be seen. Although the song was written at the height of the 2020 pandemic, and thus quite literal in its isolation-themed identity, it also translates to many moments since the world has been released from our respective homes.
“Bloodshot” is another highlight of A Little Lucky, showcasing Chromeo’s production with rich synthesizers and catchy basslines. At the same time, Milk & Bone’s Laurence Lafond-Beaulne and Camille Poliquin’s vocal harmonies soar in full motion. “Bloodshot” is similar to a love so explosive and passionate that it can’t feel real yet; it’s the realist thing you never expected.
Then there’s “Blossom Tree,” a soft cry, a bittersweet realization of how painful reality can be.
The drum loops in the intro are reminiscent of an omnichord and act almost like a music box, leading into the first verse. Both girls sing in unison as the song moves forward, guided by the bass. With harmonies upon harmonies, as if the girls were summoning their own selves to the rescue to stand stronger.
Camille Poliquin shares on the video for “Blossom Tree,” “We were always going to encapsulate the entire ‘A Little Lucky era’ for us. Ever since working on these songs with Chromeo, they felt like a little bubble. Just the two of us, but guided and steered by the Chromeo guys. It felt like the perfect opportunity for a road trip.
The video feels nostalgic to us. Escaping the city, leaving everything behind for a second, just to end up in the middle of nowhere. Taking a beat from everyday life, from hardships, from pain. And existing in our own little world for a moment. To recenter ourselves and one another, and to start anew. Stronger. Together.
We approached director Nas Bogado in Los Angeles at our friend and producer Micah Jasper’s (Chrysalism, Baby Dreamer EP) birthday party. When discussing the rollout of the ‘A Little Lucky’ EP and its creative direction, everything felt effortless and natural. It seemed evident that we had to work together on this.
After assembling a team of amazing collaborators, we shot the videos for both “Hoops” AND “Blossom Tree” in just two days. We’re so grateful for this collaboration and for this team.”
