Mel Blue share propulsive new single ‘B UR’

The live electronic trio, Mel Blue, kick off their next chapter in style, today announcing their latest single ‘B UR’ out on Nettwerk. Listen here.
‘B UR’ is a skittering slice of soulful house with touches of footwork DnB, with a heartfelt RnB vocal and lyrics on love, yearning and reflection. A bold blend and a track which matches the ambition of the band and mirrors their energetic all-encompassing approach to dance music production.
The band explain further “’B UR’ represents a move sonically that has been brewing in us for the last few years, but one that could only have been realised by moving to the UK. Living in London across 2023 and 2024 exposed us to bass music; especially jungle, DnB, UKG, and breakbeat in an entirely new context. As each of us navigated the differences London has to back home, this is the music that soundtracked our time there. As a cathartic way to deal with the change we were all experiencing, these genres inevitably found their way into our music. Alongside the r&b and indie songwriting that has always been part of our musical DNA, B UR holds the energy of this catharsis and new UK context.”
Mel Blue, consisting of Oscar Sharah, Jacob Siles, and Luke Gerber, draw heavily from a feeling of nostalgia. Simultaneously imbuing their dance music with retrospection and modernity, bringing the past and present together to create a sound that is as vulnerable as it is forward thinking.
