MARMOZETS RETURN WITH THE NEW SINGLE “A KISS FROM A MOTHER”
November 11, 2025 BY Bailey Vigliaturo
Marmozets make a long-awaited return as they release their brand new track ‘A Kiss From A Mother’ via Nettwerk Music Group on November 5th – their first new music in seven years. They also announce details of an extensive run of UK underplay shows which start this December.
Hailing from Bingley in Yorkshire, Marmozets arrived fully formed as teenagers. The friendship between Jack Bottomley (guitar) and Sam Macintyre (guitar) laid the roots for the band to be completed by their siblings Becca Bottomley (née Macintyre on vocals), Josh Macintyre (drums) and Will Bottomley (who recently left the band on bass.) They were soon tearing through gigs in clubs they were technically too young to even be in with their fearless dynamism and ability to fuse sharp musicianship with huge, hook-filled melodies. After inking their first record deal they went on to release two critically acclaimed albums (‘The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets’ and ‘Knowing What You Know Now’) and played huge shows across the globe.
And then, they seemed to disappear to the outside world but on the inside, everything was changing – and for the better.
Becca and Jack became parents (and later married) – a new focus that took them from the all-encompassing demands of their band to the all-encompassing needs of their daughter. An impromptu jam generated their first new song and more new material quickly snowballed. Then reuniting with Josh and Sam (switching from guitar to bass following the amicable departure of Will Bottomley), Marmozets were ready to bite back. Sessions with producers Jonathan Gilmore (Biffy Clyro, Nothing But Thieves) and Andy Hawkins, proved that the band were now operating creatively at a new level, beyond what they had previously achieved – both in terms of musicianship and far-reaching versatility.

Now Marmozets are back with new single ‘A Kiss From A Mother’. A statement of intent, ‘A Kiss From A Mother’ sees Marmozets’ channelling their ferocity into a heavyweight, melodically leaning song which wastes no time in throwing its punches. There’s a wilfully creative streak too, with Marmozets embracing mariachi-metal mayhem that reflects their adoration of The Cramps as Becca Macintyre’s blood-letting vocals – captured in just three takes – soar to punishing highs.
Becca says, “The message of the song is to make sure you listen, rather than just shoot straight back. Probably everyone can relate to the idea of not letting some advice go in one ear and out the other, let it actually immerse in you. As for my voice, that’s just my spirit coming out! I’m not playing a character; I’m giving it all that I’ve got.”.
Alongside the new music, Marmozets have announced their first headline underplay shows since 2018, which start in December with a show at London’s Dingwalls on January 31st.
