Los Angeles Indie Artist Meija Shares Love Letter Video To LA’s Food Scene For New Single “No More Excuses”

LA native indie-pop artist meija aka Jamie Sierota shares his new indie-rock single, “No More Excuses,” along with a deeply personal video that will leave the viewer literally hungry for more. A voracious food lover, meija showcases his favorite iconic Los Angeles restaurants and meals in the video including Randy’s Donuts, In n Out, Pinks, Norm’s Diner, Canter’s Deli, Musso and Franks, Genghis Cohen, Belles Bagels, Fat & Flour, Kazunori, Phillipe’s, Burrito La Palma, Chengdu Taste, and Cielito Lindo.

Jamie explains, “‘No More Excuses’ is a song about trying to place blame on anything other than myself. Sometimes it’s not the universe or something bigger, sometimes I just need to face the facts that I could do better if I really tried. The video is really a love letter to LA and its food scene. I wanted to feature some of my favorite dishes in town, some of which I’ve been eating since I was a kid! I used all the different food as a metaphor for trying everything, grasping at straws, only to realize that the source of my problems might just be me.”

The track follows his recent single, “Not Sure How This Ends,” a hazy indie rock number perfect for long summer days and road trips into the mountains that tackles the frustrations that come with daily life. Under the guise of meija, LA based producer and songwriter Jamie Sierota makes music for our collective inner child. His synth-drenched, indie pop adjacent brand of rock mines the simple moments we tend to ignore, those that tend to mean far more than we’d like to admit. With the release of his 2019 debut EP, So Long Kid, and the 2021 follow-up EP, Premonition, he has explored themes of nostalgia and naive love and what that all means in a messy and sometimes chaotic world. It has gained him a loyal fan following with over 15 million streams worldwide and praise from outlets like EarmilkComplexLadygunnKCRW, and more.
