London Based Singer-Songwriter Tom Speight Announces UK Tour; Shares New Single

April 9, 2021 BY Nettwerk

Today, London-based artist Tom Speight releases ”Soak Up” the second single taken from his forthcoming album, Everything’s Waiting For You, which will be released on September 24, 2021 via Nettwerk Records.

Soak Up” delivers Tom’s familiar acoustic folk element, along with a bigger sonic palette with using more guitars, piano & gang vocals!

On the track, Tom says – “‘Soak Up’ was written during a turbulent time in my life. I had just finished touring & working on album one and if I’m honest I was burned out by the experience of relentlessly touring & generally feeling a little lost in the world. I was single at the time of writing the track and I suppose I was longing for someone. To me, ‘Soak Up’ is about finding love and giving everything you have in return to that person. The track was co-written and produced with my best friend Rich Turvey, (Blossoms), during the summer. It was one of the first sessions since the pandemic started and it felt so good to be back in Abbey Road recording the track & pushing the boundaries of my sound. I feel like ‘Soak Up’ is the perfect crossover between my first album and my new record. I also think ‘Soak Up’ helped me to secure me a new record deal which makes it even more special during such a time of uncertainty. I can’t wait for the album tour and for everyone to hear this track.

A driven talent, Tom Speight has released a string of well-received EPs and a full-length album since 2014, amassing over 160m streams on Spotify and over 6.4m on Apple Music so far. He undoubtedly radiates positivity. For that, in part, he has his fans to thank – millions of them, all over the world. In Brazil, they sent his song “Little Love” to No.1. In Germany, they chose him to serenade contestants on the TV show The Bachelor. Everywhere he goes, his dedicated fans sell out his headline shows. Tom continues to gain strong support at BBC Radio 2 with 7 consecutive singles playlisted, National UK TV performances, and a selection of festival appearances including Glastonbury.

Tom has announced a string of headline tour dates that will take in four nights across the UK, including a hometown show at London’s Lafayette. The February 2022 dates will mark the first time Tom plays songs from the follow-up to his 2019 debut Collide in front of a live audience. Buy tickets from HERE
