Lo-fi Duo PANTōNE VU Share ‘There Are No Words’ LP
September 23, 2022 BY Jason Currell
Today, lofi duo PANTōNE VU (A + K) share their debut album, There Are No Words. The project expands on two previously released concept EPs. The Orange Series EP (HERE) and The Blue Series (HERE) dove into the corners of the color spectrum, blending found sound, live performance, and modular synth-tinkering.
“We’ve decided to call this one THERE ARE NO WORDS because, well there are no words,” explains the duo. “Our wish is that you, dear listener, will find shelter and perhaps hope in these songs in the middle of our fractured echo chamber world–a world which often leaves A + K speechless and reaching for their instruments.”
Several singles from the There Are No Wordsproject have built up strong DSP momentum leading up to the release. “Turmeric,” “Orange Apricot” and “Mango Powder” have already combined for over 2.5 million Spotify streams.
The two musicians of PANTōNE VU teamed up with the common goal of incorporating chromesthesia (sound-to-color synesthesia) into their music. The sonics of each PANTōNE VU track seek to automatically and involuntarily evoke an experience of color.
