LA Indie Pop Duo Mannequin Online Release EP ‘BOOM’; Listen Now

December 8, 2023 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Today, Los Angeles duo Mannequin Online share their second EPBOOM. The brainchild of married couple Zach DeGaetano and Bridget Boltz, the new EP was written and recorded in their home studio with influences ranging from artists like Phoenix to Sugar Ray and even K-pop and by old pulp magazines from the seventies and eighties. “We were listening to some our favorite bands from the two-thousands,” notes Zach. “Mannequin Online is still bass riff-heavy with an indie-pop vibe, but this EP is faster. We added different angles on the same sound. It’s an exciting and upbeat spin on what Mannequin Online is.” Bridget adds, “There are messages that might be a little out-of-pocket, but you could listen to it all summer as well. It’s for top-down driving, and it’s still a little tongue-in-cheek and quirky.”

BOOM is the follow-up to their 2020 debut EP, I Feel ItMannequin Online formally came to life in 2019 after Zach had made a name for himself as one-third of the acclaimed trio WILD and as a touring musician and songwriter for acts like Tate McCrae, while Bridget shined as a sought-after session bassist and vocalist. They gained traction with their debut EP, gaining over 2 million Spotify streams and garnering critical praise from outlets like Buzzbands, Surviving the Golden Age, Atwood Magazine, and more. They followed the EP with remixes by popular artists like San Cisco, Frills, and GOLDHOUSE.
