LA-based LeyeT Shares “Rabbit Hole” From ‘More Thoughts’ EP (Out Oct 18)

August 30, 2019 BY Nettwerk

With her latest single “Rabbit Hole,” the Los Angeles based alternative-pop artist & songwriter LeyeT (pronounced “light”) writes about the unhealthy side of social media, the time-wasting “rabbit hole” of comparison we too often fall susceptible to.

Speaking about the song and the video, LeyeT explains: “The truth is, sometimes I get so defeated and down on myself after scrolling through feeds, comparing my journey to others. Social media in all its glossiness can be so unhealthy when it turns into this type of negative trap.  Sometimes we need a good wake up call to stop it, which for me is this song.”

LeyeT made an impressive debut with “Don’t Make Me Cry” topping Spotify’s Fresh Finds, landing in the US and Global Viral Spotify charts, and “Long Way” which garnered her first of several #1 Hype Machine spots.  Having earned solid support and debuting live in both LA & NYC, LeyeT released her debut EP thoughts which housed buzzy singles such as “Most People” which premiered via Billboard and “Let Me Know” that landed in Spotify’s New Music Friday.

On October 18, LeyeT will release sophomore EP more thoughts.  Combining vivid lyricism with pop sensibilities, the 6-song EP explores a variety of themes and soundscapes, from acoustic confessionals to surging synth gems.  The songs digs deep, openly writing about personal themes of friendship, self-reflection, the negative effects of social media and more.

This EP is a snapshot into my mind and life – a continuation of my thoughts which are always running,” says LeyeT.  Adding, “I’ve been in a season of growth and independence which led me to explore themes outside of love and heartbreak, topics that were prevalent in my first EP. I’ve learned more about myself in the process and feel even more confident in who that is – a rather relentless, driven, free spirit.”
