October 25, 2024 BY Emma Orland
Alt-pop band The Strike embraces 80s synth-scapes with a modern edge on their anthemic album A Dream Through Open Eyes. The cinematic release is produced by Jon Fields (Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Switchfoot) and offers an upbeat soundtrack to everyday life. Listen HERE.
“We could not be more excited for the release of A Dream Through Open Eyes. The album is about living life to the fullest. The songs paint a surreal picture of moments in life that we tend to take for granted. In the modern era, we are often so distracted that we fail to realize that life is already a great adventure. Our hope is that this album provides a soundtrack to everyday events like navigating a relationship, going on a drive with a partner, or showing up for a friend in need. Ultimately, the choice is ours, we can choose to see our lives as a series of trials, or view it as a dream through open eyes.”
The Strike is a pop band at its core that fuses soaring vocal melodies and anthemic choruses over slamming 80’s influenced drums and pulsing synthesizers to create alternative music that sounds like a modern arena rock band. They have toured across continents and attracted fans who often travel long distances to catch their electric live shows that get everyone out of their seats and dancing. Over the last 9 months, the band has seen incredible fan growth both in their streaming as well as touring. Chris says, “Throughout this process, we have made an effort to take the energy felt in our live performances and bottle it in this record.” The thread running through their third album, A Dream Through Open Eyes, is one of euphoric, cinematic nostalgia that is so unique to The Strike.
