James Vincent McMorrow Unveils New Single “Glu;” East Coast Tour This Fall

September 27, 2024 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow returns with his brand-new single “Glu,” offering an intimate reflection on love, connection, and the complexities that come with it. Co-written with Ilsey Juber, the song captures the balance between being together and alone, underpinned by McMorrow’s trademark emotional vulnerability and introspective lyrics. This follows McMorrow’s recent seventh studio album, Wide open, horses.

“I wrote this with Ilsey Juber the first day I met her. It was born out of a conversation about love—when you find that person, you bind yourself to them, but so much of that is both beautiful and hard. It’s about understanding the intensity of it all, making it work not just on the good days but the bad ones. I took the song home, recorded it in a two-hour burst, and just followed the energy. I’m really proud of it,” says McMorrow.

Alongside the release of “Glu,” McMorrow is embarking on an East Coast North American tour this fall, with stops in New York, D.C., Nashville, Toronto, and Montreal. The tour will feature a selection of songs from his most recent album, Wide open, horses, a deeply personal and candid exploration of self-acceptance and identity. Fans can expect to hear highlights from Wide open, horses alongside his latest single and beloved hits.
