UK musician William Clapson artist behind Jack in Water and LA based singer-songwriter Lily Kershaw have today shared the beautifully tender “A Stranger’s Home“, a tastefully reworked version of Clapson’s powerful and poignant song “You Don’t Feel Like Home“.

“I have been a big fan of Lily for a while and recently we wrote a song together about the concept of home and it felt really fitting that we collaborate on this stripped back version of You Don’t Feel Like Home,” Clapson explained. “Lily’s voice just has this timeless beauty that feels nostalgic, and I am so happy to have been able to do this with her. It also seemed fitting that it was recorded between Essex (UK) and Spain (my new home).”

The original version was about Clapson physically leaving his hometown, along with its claustrophobic memories and emotional baggage that came with it. With “A Stranger’s Home” the track is now stripped back to its core, featuring only acoustic guitar, piano, synthesizer and focusing on the crystalline harmonies of the two artists which highlight the song’s haunting qualities.

The track is taken from Jack in Water upcoming EP (due out early 2022) and will feature reworked versions of songs taken from his debut album which came out earlier this year.

Brought up in a little village in Essex, Jack in Water is the alias of rising singer-songwriter William Clapson. After releasing a string of impressive EPs since 2011, he released his debut album titled You Don’t Feel Like Home via Nettwerk Records in August 2021. Produced by Oli Bayston (Loyle Carner, The 2 Bears), the album is a stunning statement of acceptance, as much about moving on as it is about looking back.
