Ivan & Alyosha Release ‘Live at Benaroya Hall’ With the Seattle Symphony

December 10, 2021 BY Nettwerk

Last year, at the height of the pandemic, indie rock fivesome Ivan & Alyosha embarked on a riveting live performance event by teaming up with the Seattle Symphony for a reimagining of their most recent self-titled release and select original songs across their full repertoire accompanied by the thirty-piece orchestra. The result was a sold-out live stream concert from Benaroya Hall in their hometown of Seattle.

Now, the band is unveiling Live at Benaroya Hall, a live album of the storied event. Ivan & Alyosha performs arrangements of their best-known songs, and fan favorites thoughtfully arranged by Andrew Joslyn, contributing Grammy Award-winning composer, to bring nuance to the sonic partnership of two formidable ensembles. Live at Benaroya Hall is available on all digital retailers (here).

Live at Benaroya Hall comes on the heels of I&A’s alternate version of “Coming Alive” from their 2020 full-length self-titled release. The reimagined version features their friend Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional. Together they put a purposeful new spin, with Carrabba taking lead vocals on a verse.

Ivan & Alyosha is led by vocalist Tim Wilson, his songwriting partners Ryan Carbary (guitar) and Pete Wilson (bass), as well as guitarist Tim Kim and drummer Cole Mauro. Known for their sweet, Beatles-esque pop harmonies and jangly guitar licks, this five-piece group has toured with everyone from Aimee Mann to Brandi Carlile. Now, with a decade of touring and recording under their belts, Ivan & Alyosha continue to hone their creative voice, unafraid to let their sound evolve while staying true to their folk-pop roots.
