Vancouver-based indie-alternative band Blue J are excited to announce they have signed to Nettwerk. Today, the group shares their cinematic and textural new single, “Something Happened,” that envelops the listener in hazy vocals and lush guitars mixed with driving drumbeats.

The band explains, “’Something Happened’ is about remaining connected in the moments when it might be easiest to disengage and shut down. It’s an ode to friendship and love through embarrassment, boredom, uncertainty and imperfections.”

Helmed by lead singer and creator Justice McLellan, Blue J is comprised of bandmates Lindsay Sjoberg, Mark Whiting, and Adam Fink. Formed in 2017, the band released their debut EP, lovingly titled EP, in 2018 to praise from Canadian tastemakers like Northern Transmissions, Exclaim and more. They have made a name for themselves in the indie rock scene touring with SALES, The Twilight Sad, The Zolas and Jo Passed. Justice also hosts a podcast called The JPod, where he interviews friends and/or fellow musicians like Chet Porter, pro skateboarder Bastien Salabanzi, and Peach Pit lead guitarist Chris Vanderkooy. Blue J are currently working on new music. Stay tuned for more to come.
