Indie Pop Band The Collection Releases New Single “Rose Colored Glasses”

December 9, 2022 BY Jason Currell

Today North Carolina indie-pop band The Collection drop their latest anthem, “Rose Colored Glasses.” The song is the third single released from the new EP, How to Survive an Ending, out via Nettwerk on January 27, 2023. The track celebrates the positives of a relationship after it ends – looking back on the good times instead of focusing on the bad.

About the track, lead singer David Wimbish said, “It’s so easy in a breakup to only remember the bad things about the other person. I wrote Rose Colored Glasses because I didn’t want to forget the love, and the reasons that that love existed in the first place. It’s a song about the choice to remember the best in someone I’ve loved even after that relationship ended.”

“Rose Colored Glasses” follows The Collection’s two previously released Nettwerk singles, “Sorry Baby” and “Won’t Stop Yet” and codifies the band’s steady march towards indie-pop.

Along with the new song, The Collection has announced some headline tour dates, including a performance at Austin’s famed SXSW Music Festival. The Collection’s raucous live shows have drawn accolades and major festival slots nationwide, as well as tour dates with Sammy Rae & The Friends, The Oh Hellos and more. About The Collection:
The Collection derives an inimitable musical language from the unbreakable bond between its members. Fronted by David Wimbish, the Saxapahaw, NC-based band places just as much emphasis on interpersonal community and relationships as it does on the music itself.

Theirs isn’t an overnight success story. They have generated tens of millions of streams, logged tens of thousands of miles on the road, earned praise from American SongwriterGlideParade, and more, and landed on NPR Tiny Desk Judges’ Picks – all before signing their first record deal with Nettwerk Music Group in 2022.

The Collection have developed a devout fanbase thanks in part to their renowned raucous and rowdy performances. They have lit up festival stages and crisscrossed the country with The Oh Hellos, RIPE, Tall Heights, and Sammy Rae & The Friends, to name a few.

“I hope you feel validated and empowered when you listen to us,” Says lead singer David Wimbish “We have a community with each other in this band, but everyone who comes to see us or listens is part of that family. It’s all about strengthening those relationships. We’re here for you.”
