Indie-folk Singer/Songwriter Harrison Storm Finds Inner Peace On New Single “Find A Way”
May 23, 2025 BY Emma Orland
Australian indie-folk singer-songwriter Harrison Storm finds emotional clarity in new single “Find A Way” (Nettwerk). Written during a solo retreat at a remote cabin in New South Wales, the track features tender fingerpicked guitars and intimate vocals, encapsulating a period of solitude and transformation. “This song is a conversation between myself and the anxious part of me that I have been nurturing for years. The part that doesn’t feel safe in the world. It’s a very literal song in that sense. The place I’m singing from is the calm, peaceful, and compassionate part of me that exists within, and the version of myself I’m singing to is this part that needs a lot of care and support,” reveals Harrison.
“Find A Way” marks the first release from Harrison’s upcoming album and follows his recent collaboration with rising alt-pop artist Emily Rink on “Call Me When You Get In,” a poignant reflection on grief produced by Matt Corby (Hollow Coves, Budjerah, Jack River). Harrison discovered music’s therapeutic powers at an early age. Growing up in a culture of toxic masculinity, he would listen to artists like City and Colour, Angus Stone, and Jeff Buckley and feel less isolated. Those musicians inspired Harrison to pursue his own music career, and in 2015 he took to the streets in Melbourne to busk, where he made enough money to finance his debut EP Sense of Home. A record deal with Nettwerk soon followed, and over the course of the next seven years, Harrison released four EPs: gold certified Change It All (2017), Falling Down (2019), gold certified Be Slow (2020), and Under Dusk (2022) – the latter a collaboration with Enna Blake. Harrison’s songs have since racked up over 500 million streams, with radio plays on Australia’s triple j and the UK’s BBC Radio 2. The song “Sense of Home” was certified Gold in Canada in 2020. Now, with a new album on the way, Harrison finds a sense of connection to the world around him.
