Indie Folk Duo OCIE ELLIOTT Share New Single “My Everything” + Announce Upcoming EP

May 19, 2022 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Victoria B.C.-based and JUNO-nominated indie folk duo Ocie Elliott return with a deeply personal and intimate new EP titled What Remains out September 23, and today they share the first single, “My Everything,” where lightly plucked acoustic guitar underlines a soft call-and-answer response. “My Everything” is available tomorrow on all digital retailers (here).
“My Everything” delicately weaves through feelings of hurt, heartache and healing. In the midst of the duo—Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy—composing the songs for what would become What Remains, they received the devastating news that Sierra’s dad had been diagnosed with cancer. “We had one last month with him,” she recalls. “We were able to play these songs live for him in his final days… he actually kept saying to me during this time, ‘You’re my everything.’”

ABOUT OCIE ELLIOTT:

Ocie Elliott pen tunes that feel lived-in. You can hear their memories, experiences, and emotions in the dusty acoustic guitars, the sparse production, and the graceful harmonies between Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy. Their life together plays out in the music as if projected on the big screen of an old small-town theater. The duo initially emerged with EP in 2017. Since then, they have amassed north of 85 million streams and have seen their songs featured multiple times in Grey’s Anatomy, in addition to sync placements on New Amsterdam, NETFLIX’s Sweet Magnolias, and more. Along the way, they toured with Joshua Radin, Sons of The East, Kim Churchill, and most recently, Hollow Coves. During 2022, they garnered a nomination at the JUNO Awards in the category of “Breakthrough Artist of the Year,” marking their first nod. Both of their spirits shine like never before on their 2022 EP, What Remains, comprised of five honest and heartfelt anthems.
