Indie Disco Duo NEIL FRANCES Share New Single Feat. Grae; Debut Album and U.S. Tour In Jan 2022

December 1, 2021 BY Nettwerk

Today, Los Angeles duo Neil Frances (Jordan Feller and Marc Gilfry) team up with Toronto singer-songwriter Grae on their cheeky new single “finding rhythm,” a disco track with thumping funky beats ready for an intergalactic dance party. The track is the latest to be released off their upcoming debut album, There Is No Neil Frances, which will be released on January 28, 2022

When asked about the inspiration for the track, Marc explained, “Sometimes you’re up, and I’m down. Seems like it’s helpful to remind ourselves that there are laws of physics, ebbs, and flows, essentially, external forces involved in our every day. It is about the inner workings of a relationship’s universe. Essentially, if you’re feeling off, blame the weather.”

GRAE adds, “I’ve always been a fan of Neil Francis, so when asked to jump in a writing session with them, I was so excited at the opportunity. We wrote ‘Finding Rhythm’ our first time meeting, alongside Willa Milner, who I write with frequently. Everything was over zoom, which was a bit difficult, as you’re not in the room together and can’t vibe off each others energies, but we made it work and had a great time writing. Jordan and Marc are two of the most talented people I’ve ever worked with, it was such a pleasure, and I’m super excited to have a feature with them.

Neil Frances’ 2018 debut EP, Took A While, with its blend of psychedelic rhythms, vibe-y, infectious grooves, and raw, funky spirit put them firmly on the map and propelled them to tour slots with Jungle and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Their 2021 EP, Stay Strong Play Long, featured collaborations with Poolside and Raffaella and included their cover of “Music Sounds Better With You,” which has amassed over 60 million streams. The upcoming album, which was recorded by the duo in their Echo Park studio over the past year, aims for the stars. The band explains, “Our new album is about self-realization and becoming the person that you dream of. The concept is that we are insects on earth who ascend into outer space to become divas at a galactic ball.”

Putting special emphasis on their enthralling live sets and preferring to perform with a multi-piece band, the group has developed a reputation as a must-see stage artist. Following a sold-out show with SG Lewis at The Shrine and a set at Outside Lands this fall, the band will return to the stage in 2022 for a headline U.S. tour. A complete list of dates is below.
