Mortal Kombat” means so much to me and it was really special to rework it with “The Wonder Years.” I am such a fan of what they do and getting the chance to see our styles meet on this track was an amazing experience. I was blown away by the lyrics and the development of the story when Soupy sent his verse and Mike’s drums took the song to a whole new level. I’m so excited to finally be able to share this collaboration with the world,” shares Danny.

Dan Campbell of The Wonder Years share, “I had lunch with my friend Sameer and he told me he was working with this artist named Danny and that I would really like it. A few months later he sent me Mortal Kombat and said he thought I made a lot of sense for the second verse. I pressed play and was floored by how instantaneous the chorus was. The song got stuck in my head on one listen. The hooks were in. They had me. I had to no choice—I had to sing on it.”

ABOUT DANNY DWYER:

Every Danny Dwyer song starts with him screaming at a wall. With roots in hip hop and alternative rock, the Missouri-born, LA-based artist-producer grew up balancing his time between dirt bikes, guitars, and Ableton.  After racking up streams during SoundCloud’s golden era, his heat-seeking ears brought him big league attention and a one-way ticket to Hollywood. There he holed up in a downtown loft and threw his mad scientist mind at every DAW and instrument within striking distance. Danny has already been featured in playlists such as Spotify’s Lorem, Mellow Morning, Mellow Mood, Fresh Finds and Alternative R&B, and Apple’s INDIY, Day One, and has recently collaborated with Billy Lemos, RAC, Maria Isabel, Benny Sings, MILK, and now The Wonder Years.
