Hollow Coves Release Share “Purple” Music Video + North American Tour Dates on Sale Now!
August 22, 2022 BY Jason Currell
Today, Brisbane indie-folk duo Hollow Coves gear up for their upcoming North American tour with the release of the music video for “Purple.” Ryan Henderson and Matt Cairns pair their tender harmonies and expansive instrumentals with a stirring visual tale of finding true love.
Purple was inspired by a pivotal moment in band member Matt’s relationship with his now wife. Matt says, “One afternoon, early in our relationship, we sat beside a lighthouse on Fingal Headland and put everything on the table. It was the first time being completely vulnerable with each other and it opened a door to a whole new dimension in our relationship. It was in that moment that I realized that this was the girl that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. That place will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”
After taking Europe by storm this summer, Hollow Coves prepare to bring their energizing world tour to North America with support from Ocie Elliott. The dates kick off at Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on September 11th. Find the full list of dates below along with all details and ticket information at https://hollowcoves.com/tour/
WATCH & SHARE HOLLOW COVES “PURPLE”:
A dynamic indie-folk group brimming with their passion for travel and observing different shades of the world, Hollow Coves first caught attention with their debut EP Wanderlust (2017) followed by their 2019 debut full-length Moments, whose songs were inspired by reflecting on a variety of moments and unforgettable shared experiences in their lives and the lives of those around them. In 2021, they shared their EP Blessings. Written and recorded in their home studio on the Gold Coast, the EP came together during a time where togetherness felt far away. Ryan and Matt turned inward, finding truths and stories in their respective pasts, and putting them to song.
The duo’s tender melodies and poignant lyrics have resonated with fans around the world with the band amassing over half a billion on-demand global streams to date and boasting a YouTube channel subscriber base of 446,000+.
In 2021, single “Coastline” became certified Gold in Canada and Australia and it’s since broken the Top 20 of most used songs on Instagram Reels. Along with single, “Blessings,” they have been played more than 700-million times alone on Facebook/Instagram. Meanwhile on TikTok, “Coastline” has found a diverse group of fans – even with those applying for Casper’s Professional Sleeper program as highlighted by The Washington Post. Elsewhere in the media, Hollow Coves have received acclaim from the likes of Billboard, Clash, Sunday Times, Ones to Watch, Under the Radar, and more. It’s all proof positive that Hollow Coves continue to connect with the hearts and minds of listeners across borders and time zones.
