HIMALAYAS Return With Epic New Single “V.O.V” Co-Written With AC/DC’s Brian Johnson

Welsh titans, HIMALAYAS have returned with their anthemic single, V.O.V (listen here), which was co-written with none other than the legendary AC/DC frontman, Brian Johnson! The lyrics were gifted to the band via a mutual friend of them all, following Brian hearing the quartet’s music. Realising they were sitting on an opportunity of a lifetime, HIMALAYAS got to work on the song and finished writing it.

Brian Johnson, frontman for AC/DC has said of the process, “When I was played their recordings, I immediately thought they were the perfect band for the song; the attack they bring to V.O.V is musical violence, brilliant!!”

Worthy of featuring in the soundtrack of a cinematic masterpiece, V.O.V was produced by the sought-after Dan Lancaster (Blink-182, Muse, Bring Me The Horizon), at Miloco studios. This was another huge tick for the HIMALAYAS bucket list.

The four-piece have said of the track, V.O.V is a song of resistance and struggle against violence and suffering. We wanted to talk of contrasting worlds and how the cracks between them are so readily paved over. Brian was really complimentary of our music and what we had achieved so far, something we were really grateful for.”

HIMALAYAS have also revealed the official music video, which sees the band performing the track in a dramatically lit room, occasionally plunging them into darkness. The visuals also see frontman Joe Williams immersing into a bath full of black water, perfectly complementing the track’s dark lyrics. Directed by Ted Clark of London Films, the video can be viewed here and below:
