Hermitude Shares “St. Claire” Performance Clip From ‘Mirror Mountain’; U.S. DJ Dates Start July 21
June 23, 2022 BY Bailey Vigliaturo
Acclaimed Australian electronic duo Hermitude recently shared their new album Mirror Mountain via Elefant Traks/Nettwerk. An eight-track release, Mirror Mountain was recorded on the outskirts of the Blue Mountains town of Blackheath, just as the rest of the world went into lockdown. The pair opted for a pared-back setup of one synth, one laptop, and a Moog Matriarch, attempting “not to over-clutter the music,” they explained. “Recording Pollyanarchy was a fun experience, but it was also tiring,” said Angus Stuart.
Hermitude entered the Electronic College chart five weeks ago and sat Top 10 for the last three weeks. The NACC (North American College and Community) chart is the most important charting organization for campus and community stations across the United States and Canada. The panel includes some major non-comm stations such as KEXP in Seattle and KCRW in Los Angeles. Stations report their Top 10 favorite electronic releases each week, which are then compiled into an overall Top 30 chart. Recent favorites on the electronic chart include Hot Chip, Toro y Moi, !!! (chk chk chk) and Let’s Eat Grandma.
Consisting of Luke Dubber (a.k.a. Luke Dubs) and Angus Stuart (a.k.a. Elgusto), Billboard-chart topping outfit Hermitude have been releasing music since the turn of the century, drawing widespread critical acclaim and sold out headline shows around the world. Next month, El Gusto heads to the states for a string of US dates, playing new tracks and some fan-favorites. See dates below.
Last month, Hermitude filmed a series of awe-inspiring performance clips atop the Blue Mountains. Check out the video for the album single “St. Claire.”
