HAZLETT CEMENTS HIS INDIE FOLK RISE WITH NEW ALBUM LAST NIGHT YOU SAID YOU MISSED ME
October 1, 2025 BY Bailey Vigliaturo
With a guitar in hand and heart on his sleeve, Hazlett shares his deeply intimate new album, last night you said you missed me, out today via Nettwerk. Known for his soul-stirring lyricism and lush folk atmospheres, the Sweden-based, Australian indie folk singer unveils his most vulnerable and cinematic work to date—one crafted for the quiet moments, the aching goodbyes, and the hopeful new beginnings. To accompany the album release, Hazlett has shared a music video for his new track, “queen of the season.”
In support of the new album, Hazlett embarked on a 23-date North American headline tour earlier this week, performing in Montreal, Toronto, and Chicago. The run also includes performances at major festivals like Bourbon & Beyond, Iron Blossom, All Things Go (DC), and Redwest Festival, as well as four amphitheater dates supporting Vance Joy across the East Coast.
Told through a collection of sonic postcards, last night you said you missed me blends stripped-back ballads and comforting acoustic textures, exploring themes of self-preservation, distance, yearning, and quiet hope. Each track unfolds like a handwritten letter—raw, honest, and brimming with feeling. Whether you’re walking through city streets alone or sitting by candlelight, this record is a confession and a cathartic hug—a reminder that home isn’t always a place. Sometimes, it’s a song that stays a while. 2025 singles “i don’t want your garden,” “mountain of a memory,” “tell me something,” “doing my best” and “blue jean,” had offered glimpses into Hazlett’s evolved artistry—each one met with praise for their unfiltered vulnerability and cinematic charm.
Hazlett shares, “This one’s a little different, which I know is cliché to say, but it’s true,” Hazlett explains. “I think it would be easier to say after all these years that I’ve found my sound and that’s where I’ll stay. But I think there’s a lack of authenticity in staying the same. When I started this whole thing, I wanted anyone who starts to listen to feel like they’re part of this whole thing with me. Growing, trying, and finding pieces of ourselves along the way.”
Hazlett’s 2023 debut Bloom Mountain and 2024’s Goodbye to the Valley Low turned heads across the indie music landscape, establishing him as a masterful storyteller and emotional architect. With over 500M globalstreams, 2.5M+ monthly Spotify listeners, and 118K+ TikTok fans, his music continues to resonate on a global scale. This past summer, Hazlett took the stage with Noah Kahan at London’s BST Hyde Park, further showcasing his ability to connect with massive crowds while staying deeply personal.
Hazlett is currently on tour with his full band set to play stages across North America, including New York’s Warsaw, San Francisco’s The Fillmore, and Los Angeles’ The Bellwether. You can purchase tickets at https://www.thisishazlett.com/tour.
