Great Good Fine Ok Shares New Single “Let’s Talk” With Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness
October 25, 2024 BY Bailey Vigliaturo
LA-based synth-pop duo Great Good Fine Ok alongside renowned singer-songwriter Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness have shared their new joint venture, “Let’s Talk.” The single is accompanied by the announcement of Great Good Fine Ok’s forthcoming seventh EP, the aptly titled SEVEN out January 24th, 2025 via Nettwerk.
The collaboration brings together two celebrated forces in the indie-pop scene, blending Great Good Fine Ok’s signature synth-laden soundscapes with Andrew McMahon’s heartfelt lyricism and emotional depth. The vocal switch offs between GGFO’s lead singer Jon Sandler and McMahon feel seamless and complementary to one another. The emotionally raw lyrics backed by the infusion of indie/alt-pop brings upon a subtle yet captivating resonance. “Let’s Talk” is a poignant and introspective track that digs deep into the complexities of human emotions and the importance of open communication.
Great Good Fine Ok reveals this on “Let’s Talk,” “This honest and vulnerable collaboration with Andrew McMahon explores our greatest fears and insecurities. Addressing concepts like fear, trust, and shame we delve into heavy territory. Whether it’s fear about health, family, careers, rejection etc., we can all relate to having shadows. Maybe the best cure is to communicate honestly and often with the ones we love. To simply talk about it all. That’s what this song is doing.”
Regarding the forthcoming EP, SEVEN, the duo shares, ““SEVEN’ is our most stylistically eclectic EP yet. Both musically and lyrically we explore the full scope of GGFO. We jump between vastly different genres and explore concepts ranging from playful and light to somber and heavy. Another highlight of this EP is the diverse group of collaborators. We Include some of our favorite artists from different musical worlds to help us create this new and dynamic chapter.”
“Let’s Talk” follows last month’s single “Better Without You,” a shimmering dance-pop anthem driven by a narrative that speaks to the confusions and uncertainties faced with in a romantic relationship. Both tracks, while sonically diverse from one another, offer a glimpse into Great Good Fine Ok’s multilayered soundscape that’s to be heard on their forthcoming SEVEN EP in the coming year.
