Graeme James Signs To Nettwerk; Releases New Song “The DIfference”

July 10, 2017 BY Nettwerk

Nettwerk is excited to announce the addition of New Zealand singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Graeme James to its label roster. His new track, “The Difference,” showcases his trademark layering and foot stomping energy, with restless electric guitars and punchy mandolin over a driving rhythm section. Impassioned lyrics and rousing fiddle add to the wistful nature of this atmospheric folk epic.

Graeme has built a large and loyal fan base throughout New Zealand with his captivating live shows and unique folk style, performing with the aid of a loop pedal to layer electric violin, guitar, bass, baritone ukulele, mandolin, harmonica, percussion, and beatboxing in his one-man-band sound.

The past 12 months have been a whirlwind for Graeme, who self-released his debut album News From Nowhere in September 2016, which peaked at #3 on the New Zealand album chart, #26 on the Top 40 album chart and was a finalist in the 2017 Vodafone Music Awards for NZ Folk Album of the Year. His breakout singles, “Alive” and “One + One,” have racked up over 3 million plays between them, and “Alive” placed second in the singer songwriter/folk category of the international songwriting competition Unsigned Only.

Graeme spent the better part of a year touring in support of News From Nowhere, including a string of sold out shows across New Zealand as well as a summer of national and international festival appearances, cementing his reputation as a captivating live performer and recording artist.
