Good Old War Premiere “Clown-Zapping” New Video Via Billboard, Announce Dates With Kodaline

July 15, 2015 BY Nettwerk

Philly’s Good Old War shared the official music video for their lead single “Tell Me What You Want From Me” yesterday via an exclusive premiere with Billboard.  Where Stephen King’s It made the world fear clowns, Good Old War’s “Tell Me What You Want From Me” makes clowns fear the world.  The hilarious video clip comes on the heels of the band announcing a fall North American tour as main support for Irish indie rock band Kodaline.

The video and fall tour news also follows the June 29th release of the band’s incredible new album Broken Into Better Shape.  Their fourth full-length and first for Nettwerk Records, the album features ten incredibly catchy and heartfelt tunes that have earned them premieres with Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy Blog (“Tell Me What You Want From Me” – “…a catchy, upbeat tune with a clickety-clack rhythm that soars…”),  Entertainment Weekly (“Broken Record” – “addictive”) and Paste (“Don’t Forget” – “…pushing themselves creatively while maintaining the acoustic qualities that have won them so many fans over the last three albums.”).  It also garnered Good Old War some of their highest praise yet, like when XPN’s The Key called Broken Into Better Shape “a compact album jam-packed with their best material to date” and had the Houston Chronicle calling it “an album full of pop songs that will push the Philadelphia boys even higher….”  The Minneapolis Star Tribune described Good Old War as a “…blend of Mumford & Sons and fun.” and ABC News reviewed the album saying, “This is indie rock with radio potential.”

Broke Into Better Shape was recorded in Nashville with producer Jason Lehning (Alison Krauss & Union Station, Dolly Parton, Mat Kearney) and mixed by another Grammy winner, engineer Vance Powell (Jack White, Houndmouth).  It’s the first album that the now duo – Keith Goodwin and Dan Schwartz – worked with outside writers on such as the soaring “Fly Away,” which was written in NYC with Emile Haynie (Lady Antebellum, fun.).

As the band makes its way around the US on their summer headlining tour, the “Tell Me What You Want From Me” single is making its way up the AAA charts – right now sitting at #22.  They kicked off their summer tour this past Sunday in Cleveland, OH at the House of Blues and will be on the road through mid-August when they play the Pinelands Festival in NJ.  Complete tour dates for the summer headlining tour and the fall North American tour with Kodaline are below.
