Good Old War Launch Ticket Presale With SongKick Today For US Headline Tour
June 18, 2015 BY Nettwerk
Good Old War has just released the presale information with SongKick for their summer US headlining tour, full details HERE, with the on-sale for all dates going live on Friday. The summer headlining trek is in support of the band’s new full-length studio album Broken Into Better Shape which is due out June 30th on Nettwerk. The Philly band officially announced the tour on Monday via Entertainment Weekly who exclusively premiered the second album track to be released “Broken Record,” describing the song as having “shades of the Beatles’ 1963 classic ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’” and calling it “addictive.” Check out the song and the premiere HERE.
Broken Into Better Shape is Good Old War’s fourth full-length studio album and is the follow up to 2012’s Come Back As Rain, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseeker’s Chart. The new album was recorded in Nashville with Grammy Award winning producer Jason Lehning (Alison Krauss & Union Station, Mat Kearney) and mixed by another Grammy winner, engineer Vance Powell (Jack White, Houndmouth). On April 6th, 2015 Good Old War unveiled the first single “Tell Me What You Want From Me” via an exclusive premiere with The Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy Blog who describes the song as, “… a catchy, upbeat tune with a clickety-clack rhythm and a chorus that soars upward on layers of wordless vocals as Goodwin delivers the refrain.” (Tour dates after the jump.)
Good Old War is looking forward to playing new songs on the road starting a couple of weeks after Broken Into Better Shape drops and fans have had some time to spend with the new album! The summer headlining tour also follows a sold out spring run that had them doing a series of intimate shows across the US and reuniting with drummer Tim Arnold who left his full-time spot in the band last Spring after re-locating to Atlanta for the birth of his first child.
