Germany Band RIKAS Unveils New Single “Barcelona (Learning To Love Myself)”

Today, German band Rikas release their catchy, groove driven new single “Barcelona (Learning to Love Myself).” The summery dance track is inspired by bands like The Whitest Boy Alive and Parcels and explores the idea of escape and new beginnings – in this case, to the Spanish art metropolis.

Rikas explains, “‘Barcelona’ is about the feeling of wanting to move but never doing it. It’s a song about moving on and discovering new paths in life. It started with a guitar chord melody, developed into a dance beat, and finally became a complete song during the final stages of recording. When the main chorus line about moving to the European center of art and culture was written, we felt that the last piece of the puzzle was found and everything perfectly fell into place. The lyrically strong and vivid verses, the danceable and pulsating drum and bass pattern, the sentimental guitar melody, and the convincing as well as captivating hook. This song radiates energy and stands for something, especially standing behind your decisions even though it may make you nostalgic.”
