“If you’re a fan of Ziggy Alberts and Riley Pearce, then I think you’re going to love Garrett Kato.” – Triple J
“Kato’s pop-folk style is punctuated by simplicity. If you don’t know him yet, you will soon.” – Beatroute

Canadian-born, Australia-based singer-songwriter Garrett Kato shares his new EP titled Distant Land. The EP features previous tracks “I’ll Be Around”, “River Mouth” and “Where the Vampires Hide”, and also includes two new songs, “House on the Hill” and title track “Distant Land,” which is about “someone who’s living in the past and afraid to move forward,” says Garrett.

Garrett Kato moved to Byron Bay (Australia) in 2010 on a whim after quitting his day job to pursue his passion for music. He first started to make a living by busking on street corners and performing five gigs a week in any place he could find with a stage. It was not until he caught the attention of some of Australia’s biggest acts that he was able to take his career to the next level. With over 20 million worldwide streams on Spotify to date producing for a string of Australian indie folk acts like Ziggy Alberts, Kyle Lionheart, Pierce Brothers and Riley Pearce; Garrett is looking ahead to a big year of touring and releasing a stunning collection of new music.

Stay tuned for more new music and updates from Garrett Kato in the coming weeks.
