With over 83 million global streams, singer-songwriter and Platinum-award winning producer Garrett Kato shares a new single “Disappearing Light” (out now via Nettwerk Records). Written, produced, and mixed by Garrett at his home studio in Australia, “Disappearing Light” was conceived deep within the global turmoil of 2021. Through song, he highlights the importance of perspective. “I wanted to write a song to remind myself that not everything in life will go to plan, and it’s easier if you accept the changes with open arms. Almost like a trance, I was swept up with all the craziness of the world. It’s nice to find some peace in the world I see, not the world the media wants me to see.”

Australian tastemaker triple j dubbed him as the “producer and musician behind some of the most prominent sounds coming out the Byron Bay’s booming buskers scene.” And rightly so, Garrett has worked with many Aussie icons, including Julia Stone, Ziggy Alberts, Dami Im, Tones and I, Busby Marou, Pete Murray, Kyle Lionhart, Riley Pearce, Jack Botts, and more.

A prolific artist, Garrett has released an EP and album over the last year – the Kumamoto EP (which American Songwriter praised as “a unique blend of folk-pop that delivers“) and the sophomore albumhemispheres (which earned critical support from Rolling Stone AU, NME, Herald Sun, and more). Born in Canada, Northern Rivers local Garrett Kato moved to Australia after spontaneously quitting his day job to pursue his passion for music. After busking and performing five gigs a week, Garrett is now having his songs synced with box office hits in the US, touring internationally, all the while running his recording studio.
