French Electronic Duo il:lo Release A Dynamic Full Body of Work With Their ‘Myriad’ EP + US Tour Dates On Sale Now

Following a string of singles over the course of 2023, French electronic duo il:lo expand upon their foundation in downtempo electronic to deliver a dynamic, driving body of work in their ‘Myriad’ EP. Released June 16th, 2023 via Nettwerk, the latest EP from Dejan Dejado and Andreas Schütz is a manifestation of years of growth as artists and producers since their debut 2019 album ‘Sloh’.
“Baume”, the penultimate single of the EP rollout, opens the EP and sees a smooth lead in drive its way to bright and buoyant organic house brimming with depth. “Shifted” explore the duo’s first time releasing a track with a vocalist. Featuring prominent Australian vocalist Fractures, “Shifted” is a captivating melodic house track that leaves a lasting impression, with Fractures’ signature haunting vocals intricately weaving emotion through the duration of il:lo’s production.
Returning to the essence of ambiance and dreamy beats from where they made their name, “Soldiner” is an expansive and ethereal production that boasts both downtempo softness and forward thinking drive. “Ink” and “Cynnes” span soundscapes from bright, transcendent ambiance peppered with organic percussion, to a deep dive down a progressive rabbit hole destined for the dance floor.
“Peaks & Valleys” sees Fractures return to lend his lyrical prowess to il:lo’s songwriting process. The result is a track that feels alive, ever shifting as though sand through your fingers. Fractures’ voice, rather than sticking out too far from the track’s sonic tapestry, is instead another brush that il:lo use to paint their world. Closing the EP, “Nuees” breathes a potpourri of organic elements and woodwind fueled melodies that expertly exemplify the duo’s historic entrenchment in downtempo electronic.
‘Myriad’ is il:lo’s most significant body of work since their debut 2019 album ‘Sloh’, and dynamically demonstrates the French duo’s development across the past 4 years in both artistry and production proficiencies as they continue to rise to prominence in the space. The past few years has seen the duo collaborate with top brands in dance music, including two striking performances for Anjunadeep Live at stunning locations in Montpellier, and Canyon Du Diable.
Comparatively to their previous works, ‘Myriad’ was produced with the stage in mind. Intended to translate to a live set, il:lo is currently in the midst of a US headlining tour after honing their craft by supporting artists of the likes of Parra For Cuva, Stimming, Janus Rasmussen, CloZee and Zimmer. On the cusp of an undeniable rise, ‘Myriad’ signifies the next chapter of il:lo. The epitome of thoughtful collaboration, it’s not a question of whether Dejado and Schütz are able to produce on their own, but it’s the magic that sparks between them when they come together.
