Festival Music House Pacific returns to Vancouver, bringing Canada’s top musical talent for a one-night concert on Friday October 7th at The Imperial. Coinciding with the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF), the invite-only (limited capacity), intimate concert provides a platform for established and up-and-coming Canadian acts to perform for festival delegates.

This year’s performers include multi-genre (hybrid live/electronic act and global music pioneers)Delhi 2 Dublin, critically acclaimed indie rock outfit Yukon Blonde, Victoria’s indie-folk roots rockers Current Swell and unsigned bluesy rock n rollers Band of Rascals.

After the great success over the past two year’s Festival Music House Pacific at VIFF, we immediately started planning for this years event – the mandate being: lets throw an even bigger party for 2016 during VIFF and provide the invited film and TV delegates an intimate and exciting showcase of Canada’s top musicians,” said Ric Arboit, President and Co-Founder of Nettwerk Music Group, which helped to curate and organize the event.

The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) produces hundreds of screenings, plus talks and events that act as a catalyst for a diverse community to discover, discuss and share the creativity and craft of storytelling on screen. In its 35th year, VIFF welcomes the world to Vancouver from September 29-October 14, 2016 as it showcases more than 300 films from BC, Canada and around the world. VIFF also plays host to emerging and established industry professionals with targeted programming focused on professional development, technology and innovation, and stimulating the motion picture industry in BC and Canada

“The film industry spans far beyond the screen. It reaches to and relies on other forms of storytelling, such as technology, art and of course, music. We are proud to celebrate the impact of music as part of the creative industries here in Vancouver, and are thrilled to once again have Festival Music House as a vehicle to do so,” said Jacqueline Dupuis, Executive Director of the Vancouver International Film Festival.

Originating in Toronto during Toronto International Film Festival and now in it’s sixth year, Festival Music House (FMH) is an exclusive, invite-only concert series that showcases the strength and diversity of Canadian talent for producers, directors, writers, actors and music supervisors in an intimate setting. FMH now holds a key place on the film industry circuit, expanding bi-coastal and recently presenting events in Halifax and now in Vancouver during VIFF.

Festival Music House was created in 2010 by Radio Starmaker to provide a platform for artists to share their talents with key decision makers in the film and television industry and to highlight the talents of Canadian musicians. It now runs in several festivals across the country. The Radio Starmaker Fund was created in the fall of 2000 on the initiative of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters in consultation with the Canadian music industry and the CRTC. It is funded entirely by Canada’s private radio broadcasters and managed by a Board of Directors comprised of leaders in broadcasting and the music industry. The fund supports emerging artists with star potential from every region of Canada.

Previous Festival Music House performances have included some of Canada’s most established and most exciting emerging talent such as Gord Downie, K’NAAN, Sam Roberts Band, City & Colour, Arkells, Dan Mangan, Kathleen Edwards, Down With Webster, Monster Truck, The Sheepdogs, Diamond Rings and many more.
