Family Of The Year Partners With Entertainment Weekly To Share “St. Croix” Music Video

August 25, 2015 BY Nettwerk

“St Croix” is full of stylistic left turns: Kokomo drum intro, swaths of atmospheric synths, Thin Lizzy-style doubled guitar lead, and finally the fadeout’s passing reference to the “Taxman” bassline…This is a vacation in a song.” – NPR

Partnering with Entertainment Weekly, LA-based Family Of The Year premieres the new video for “St. Croix” from their Nettwerk debut Loma Vista.

Getting together with director Justin Hantz, Family Of The Year capitalizes on the dreaminess of the song, playing with projections and using tricks with video feedback. With the new “St. Croix” video, Hantz plays into the beachy vibe of the track by projecting tropical landscapes behind and on band members, creatively utilizes graphic art techniques, including Alpha Matting.

Last month, Family Of The Year announced a Fall 2013 tour with Atlas Genius, beginning September 21st in Arizona. In the past, the band has shared the stage with fun., Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Walk The Moon, Good Old War and more. With their first headline tour of 2013, the band sold out shows across the country, including New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Nashville, Denver, Portland and more. This summer, the band continues the festival circuit, including Lollapalooza (Chicago, IL) on August 3rd. See below for all upcoming tour dates.

With the release of last year’s album and a stellar live show, Family Of The Year continues to garner fantastic media support. This year, the band performed “Hero” on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (May 16), Jimmy Kimmel Live! (February 11) CONAN (February 21) and Last Call With Carson Daly (February 26 – which is their second episode in two months). Recently, MTV2 added Family Of The Year as an “Artist To Watch” and USA Today featured the band in their “On The Verge” column. All this follows other emerging artists features with Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, Amazon, Interview Magazine, Sonic Bids/Paste and more.
