Ellis King Announces New EP ‘All That Comes After’ Set For Release Feb 20; Shares New Single “fitymi”

October 17, 2025 BY Emma Orland

Folk pop singer/songwriter Ellis King returns with All That Comes After, out February 20, 2026. The six-track EP was written during the aftermath of her first long-term relationship ending and captures the uneasy but necessary process of change. Today, she shares her new single “fitymi,” an uptempo, piano-driven reflection on the idea of “fake it till you make it,” layering rhythmic keys with bright, pop production. Ellis says of the song, “I’ve been trying to push myself to write about different things and also be a bit more reflective. After a big life event, like a breakup, you end up doing a lot of that. Thinking about yourself, the effort you put into your life, and where your energy really goes. For me, this song is about realising how much time I’ve spent putting on a face, holding it together, while actually struggling underneath – not wanting anyone to see me as anything other than a perfectly well put together person.”

Written and recorded in Sydney alongside acclaimed songwriter and producer Alex Burnett  (Thelma Plum, Alison Wonderland and Hockey Dad), All That Comes After captures the raw, shifting emotions that accompany a major life transition. Across these six tracks, Ellis explores love, heartbreak, self-reckoning and resilience. She first introduced this body of work with the reflective and intimate “Emergency Contact.”

“I wanted to capture the full range of emotions that come with letting go of something that was once so important,” Ellis explains. “It’s about what follows the end of something big, all while approaching a new decade of life. Narratively, each song explores a different part of that aftermath: working through a relationship and breakup; the oddly symbolic act of changing my emergency contact; coming to terms with other relationships lost and gained during this time; examining my own struggles up to this point; and, finally, moving forward – finding love, tranquility, and structure again amidst the mess.”

Ellis first introduced herself with her debut EP Better Luck (Jan 2025). Produced by Steph Marziano (Hayley Williams, Cassandra Jenkins), the EP earned praise for its lyrical honesty, cinematic production, and emotional depth, with Wonderland calling it “an emphatic and unforgettable entrance on the music scene.” Its lead single was featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds and gained early BBC Radio 1 Future Pop support from Mollie King and Jodie Bryant, who described Ellis as “a big breakout.” Written between Melbourne and London, the EP’s songs, which include “Crocodile Tears,” “1996,” and “Home,” explored love, friendship, and uncertainty with poise and restraint, establishing Ellis as a striking new voice in confessional pop and laying the groundwork for the evolution heard on All That Comes After.
