Electronic singer-songwriter Portair On Tour With City Of The Sun; Shares New Track Feat. Mokita
January 16, 2026 BY Emma Orland
Australian-born, nomadic indie-pop singer-songwriter Portair taps Nashville singer Mokita for his new single “Overnight.” He explains, “Mokita and I initially connected many years ago when I first moved to Nashville and instantly hit it off. Many years later, we reconnected after discovering we were signed to the same label and thought it would be a good idea to collaborate. We wrote ‘Overnight’ on a zoom call after sharing stories from previous years, and the song came to be really quickly. We sat with it for a while, and then eventually finished it up in person and decided it needed to come out. Mokita is a true talent, and our ideas molded so smoothly together. I’m so excited for this song to see the light of day after so many years.”
Mokita adds, “Overnight’ came out of a session Drew (Portair) and I had in 2024. We’ve known each other for years, but this was the first time we had worked together in a long time. The session was pretty quick, and we really just bounced ideas of each other and laid down some piano and basic drum beat. There’s a lot of emotion in the lyric and the vibe of the track, and so I always liked the song. About a year later, Drew was in Nashville again, and we worked out a few different guitar parts and arranged the song a little better into more of what it is now. Drew is a talented friend, and I’m pumped to have this song out with him.”

The collaboration follows his recent singles, “Flowers For A Home” and “Salt Water.” The new tracks are the first new single under the Portair moniker since his 2023 EPs, The Place To Start and Learning How To Die, which featured Vérité, WYNNE, and Emily James. As a songwriter and a producer, Portair’s songs and scores have appeared on networks such as Netflix, NBC, MTV, and CBS. He has spent the last two years collaborating with California-born, German-based singer-songwriter Ed Prosek under the name Driftwood Choir and touring extensively as Portair.
Over the past three years, the multi-instrumentalist has shared the stage in North America, Europe, and Australia with acts like Mystery Skulls, SYML, Henry Moodie, Bear McCreary, and Darren Kiely, and sold out a headline Australian run. He is currently on a North American tour with City Of The Sun, which will be followed by a European tour in February with Jonathan Roy and an Australian run in March with Gareth. A full list of dates can be found below.
Stay tuned for more to come from Portair.
