May 25, 2017 BY Nettwerk

Out today, Dia Frampton partners with Yahoo! Music to premiere the official music video for “Dead Man” from her latest album Bruises (out now via Nettwerk Records). Directed by award-winning, Korean American filmmaker Andrew Ahn, the video is the first installment in a two-part connected series.

Both “Dead Man” and the yet to be released “Crave” are Ahn’s first venture into directing music videos.  His first feature film Spa Night (2016) was a New York Times “Critic’s Pick” and hailed by top critics as “exquisitely observant” (New York Times), “impressive” (Los Angeles Times), “confident” (San Francisco Chronicle) “absorbing” (The Hollywood Reporter) and “fresh-faced” (Slate Magazine). Spa Night won the John Cassavettes Award at the 2017 Independent Spirit Awards, as well as festival jury awards from Sundance, Outfest, the San Diego Asian Film Festival, and the Inside Out LGBT Film Festival. Ahn graduated from Brown University with a degree in English and received a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) in Film Directing from the California Institute Of the Arts (CalArts).

Dia launched her career with her older sister as the sibling duo Meg & Dia, and as a contestant (and eventual runner-up) on the first season of NBC’s The Voice.  In 2015, Dia followed up 2011’s debut album RED with an EP release called ARCHIS (a side project with Joseph Trapanese, a film composer and conductor known for his collaborations with Daft Punk on the Tron score and M83 on the score for Oblivion, as well as arrangements for artists like Kelly Clarkson, Active Child and Zedd).  Produced by Dan Heath (Lana del Rey, Troye Sivan), Dia’s latest album Bruises has been dubbed a triumphant comeback album by Entertainment Weekly, Good Morning America, ABC News, Yahoo! Music, All Music, Black Book and more.

In addition to the video, Dia announces her first tour to the east coast since her debut album.  A stripped-down set accompanied by several string musicians, Dia will bring to life the rich and textured instrumentations of the album.  See tour dates below.
