Davis John Patton Shares Video For “We Can Find A Place” + Announces New EP

Singer/songwriter Davis John Patton joins Nettwerk’s label roster and announces his new EP From The Garden will be released on January 31, 2020. On From The Garden, the Iowa-born troubadour conveys the wonder of life’s special moments over a soundtrack of lithe acoustic instruments and atmospheric production. Today, Davis shares the video for lead single “We Can Find A Place,” which he wrote after making the decision to propose to his now-fiancée.
Of the video, Davis says, “The video reflects my idea of ‘home’ for the four years that I was in college. The town where I attended school is truly nothing special, but I deeply loved calling it home because of the incredible people I was surrounded by. A friend of mine had loads of footage of me and my friends in those years, and we combined those with a handful of shots found on our phones and social media to pull together this video. The end result is a true representation of my home for those four years and the delightful people that made it so spectacular. This video is an authentic look into a remarkably normal life, and I hope viewers can see glimpses of themselves in the various clips and begin to cherish the people they are surrounded by.”
Born and raised in the Midwest, Davis found himself drawn to music at a young age. Mom enrolled him in piano lessons during first grade. Three years later, he picked up guitar. In between choir at church and school, he discovered Bon Iver’s For Emma, Forever Ago and embraced acoustic folk. While in college, he independently wrote and recorded the 2018 Forest Park EP. “Motives” found its way to Spotify’s Lush + Atmospheric Playlist, generating over 533K streams in less than a year and attracting the attention of producer Tyler Johnson. He sent Davis a message on Soundcloud and invited him to Vancouver to record. Over the course of seven days in December 2018, they tracked the five tunes comprising From The Garden.
