D.I.Y. Band Vacations Goes Viral (Again) With Shares From Lizzo, Noah Beck, Rosalía, And More

Australian band Vacations are going viral for the 2nd time in a year with their song “Young” from their debut EP Vibes, this time with the TikTok knock trend. This past week alone musicians like Lizzo, Rosalía, Tomorrow X Together and TikTok influencers like Noah Beck, Bella Poarch, Anna Shumate, Sienna Mae, Brooke Ashley Hall, Jackson Dean and more jumped on board along with over 120K others. The nine influencers mentioned tallied over 25 million views and growing on their own. This saw an 169% increase in Shazam’s for the track (over 25K for just last week), a 12% increase in Spotify streams to over 250,000 streams per day now and around 2 million new streams total last week at just the start of the trend.
A DIY affair from the get-go, the band Vacations formed in 2016 primarily as a songwriting vehicle for Campbell Burns along with band members Jake Johnson, Nate Delizzotti, and Joseph Van Lier. The group released their new record, Forever In Bloom, this past fall as 2016’s “Young” went viral for the first time thanks to TikTok trend pairing the track with a scene from the UK show Skins. This initial bump took the track from 400K streams since its initial release four years ago to nearly 20 Million streams by December 2020. While continuing to steadily grow its fan base, the song has now amassed over 50 million streams (a 30 million increase in the first three months of 2021 before the new knock trend started) and continues to break its own streaming records each week.
