Caroline Pennell’s “Drive Me Home” Shows The Many Faces Of Love

Los Angeles-based artist Caroline Pennell has shared a music video for her new single, “Drive Me Home,” which explores themes of love and longing while Caroline sings in her beautifully distinct tone to an electronic-tinged pop soundtrack.  The video premiered yesterday on Ones To Watch, who observed, “In ‘Drive Me Home,’ we witness Pennell truly coming into her own with an established signature sound, honest and vulnerable songwriting, and an illustrative video to match.”

Caroline told Ones To Watch, “Drive Me Home’ was one of the first songs I wrote when I first moved to LA, so it came from a place of total homesickness. Growing up on the other side of the country and leaving everyone I loved back there to build a new life over here was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Writing this love song to them helped me through that transition. At the core, the song is really just about home in the truest sense, and the people who give you that sense of comfort even when you’re thousands of miles away.”

Last year, Caroline gave fans a taste of her new sound with infectious electro pop single “Lovesick,” a collaboration with producer Felix Snow that has amassed over 20 Million combined streams on Spotify alone and brought her monthly listeners to over 1 million.

Caroline first caught ears when she was a Top 8 contestant on The Voice in 2013. Following the show, she turned her energy toward exploring her own songwriting and artistry. Last year, the New Jersey-native packed her bags and headed west to Los Angeles where she now resides. She is putting the finishing touches on her debut album, due out early next year.
