Breakout Aussie Band VACATIONS Share Introspective Ballad; U.S Tour On-Sale

Platinum-selling Australian band Vacations open up with their most vulnerable track yet, “Terms & Conditions.” The melancholic ballad was written by lead singer Campbell Burns about his recent diagnosis of Pure OCD.
Burns explains, “It is one of my favourite songs on the record, and easily my most confessional to date. After three years of therapy, I was diagnosed with a chronic mental health condition called Pure OCD. It’s rare, but incredibly debilitating if left untreated. Unfortunately, it also carries a lot of social stigma, which led me to keep it close to my chest, till now. When I was first diagnosed, I was overjoyed. I had made so much progress. Now I could begin to truly know myself and take the right steps to manage my health. The afterglow wore off quickly, though as I realized the root cause for so many things within my life. All of my mannerisms, behaviours, and rituals made sense now. It was an overwhelming realization. How something had been impacting me my entire life and that I had no idea. Yet, with time and patience, it became manageable and turned into a strength that changed me for the better. It is about my experience with mental health. From having this difficult realization about yourself to learning how to keep moving forward. Be kind to yourself, it takes time.”
“Terms & Conditions” follows recent singles “Midwest” and “Next Exit,” which already have over nine million streams and are climbing the radio charts with airplay on SiriusXMU and AltNation, including a two-week stint at #1 on XMU for “Next Exit.” Both tracks were produced by Campbell Burns and John Velasquez (Zella Day, Gatlin).
Their fall North American co-headline tour, TOURZILLA, with fellow Aussies and labelmates Last Dinosaurs, will kick off with a set at the All Things Go Festival in DC in September and take the band across the country including stops at the Novo in Los Angeles and Webster Hall in NYC. The fall tour follows two sold-out U.S. tours, including performances at Austin City Limits, Elsewhere (Hall), Meow Wolf, and The Fonda (1,200 cap), and a sold-out tour in the UK this past May, including a performance at The Great Escape. A DIY affair from the get-go, the band Vacations formed in 2016 primarily as a songwriting vehicle for Campbell Burns, Burns later adding band members Jake Johnson, Nate Delizzotti, and Joseph Van Lier. Their song “Young” is certified Gold in Canada, Australia, and Poland, and was certified Platinum in the U.S. in early 2023. Their single “Telephones” is also certified Gold in the US, with the band racking up over 1 billion streams globally and over 2.2m Shazam’s.
