Bre Kennedy Shares The Anthemic “Ribbon,” The New Single From The Nashville Singer/Songwriter

July 29, 2022 BY Jason Currell

Bre Kennedy, the Nashville-based singer-songwriter, shares “Ribbon,” a track dedicated to celebrating the moments of finally letting go. With this idea in mind, “Ribbon” invites listeners into a new chapter in the world of Bre Kennedy and is a preview of what’s to come later this year.

Bre shares, “’Ribbon’ was written with my friends Riley Biederer and Rosi Golan at the top of the year on my trip to Los Angeles to spark inspiration in me again. I wanted my first single back to represent how I’m feeling right now in this new world of opportunity. I had all the time in the world to think and go inward the past 2 years… and now I’m ready to let it go and allow myself to be open to what’s next. This is the first of many new songs to come this year into 2023 and I can’t wait to share more.

Bre Kennedy creates music soaked in rich, timeless storytelling with innate pop sensibilities. She grew up in a musical household, taking in the greats like Tom Petty, Heart, Aretha Franklin, and Carole King. After a brief stint in LA, she hopped in her Nissan and headed to Nashville where she discovered her true musical identity. She self-released her Jealous of Birds EP in 2019, followed by 2020’s Twenty Something EP, and her 2021debut album, Note To Self, all of which appeared on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist and the latter of which saw Kennedy grace the cover of the Today’s Singer-Songwriters. In the past couple of years, Kennedy has sold-out Nashville’s historic Exit In and has supported such renowned artists as Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr., and Birdtalker.
