Bre Kennedy Shares “Hello” A Synth-Soaked Anthem Feat. A Spoken Word Outro From Jake Wesley Rogers

October 13, 2023 BY Emma Orland

Singer, songwriter, and producer Bre Kennedy is excited to share her new single “Hello,” off her upcoming album Scream Over Everything out November 10 via Nettwerk.  The synth-soaked anthem features a guest spot from Jake Wesley Rogers, who signs off with the spoken word line, “If there is a voice/ Let it sing/ Let it scream over everything,” a powerful sentiment and nod to the album’s title. “Hello” is available on all streaming platforms here.

Bre shares, “I am someone who tends to grieve goodbyes before they even happen. This song is a celebration in throwing my hands up and surrendering to the unknown of letting go of stories, relationships, expectations, and reframing the growth that comes with it.

At the end of ‘Hello,’ you can hear my dear friend Jake Wesley Rogers saying, ‘I think it’s time to say hello,’ and on my journey, where I am at right now, I ask the question: instead of running from goodbye – what if I said hello?”

With Scream Over Everything, Bre has arrived at her Saturn Return. Largely understood as a time of intense personal change, this phoenix-rising moment served as a deep inspiration for the Nashville-based acoustic-pop artist.

Written over the course of one metamorphic year, Scream Over Everything features nine enigmatic pop songs where Bre makes the personal universal as she recounts stories of reconnecting with estranged family members, seeking therapy, and growing into and out of relationships. The album is produced by Davis Naish (Joshua Bassett and Katelyn Tarver) and mixed by Konrad Snyder (Noah Kahan and Kacey Musgraves).

“It’s called ‘Scream Over Everything’ because I wrote these songs about screaming over all of the noise around me, whether it’s social media, the chaos of the world, or the stories I’ve been telling myself…The whole record feels visceral and alive. It’s about returning to myself now. Previously, my writing was very nostalgic—this album is intentionally very present,” shares Bre.

Bre is in the midst of her headline tour and then will celebrate the release of Scream Over Everything with two special shows in Nashville on November 14 and Los Angeles on November 19. See all tour dates below..
