Boy & Bear Announce Fall Tour Dates, Share “Walk The Wire” Music Video

Australia’s Boy & Bear will return to the U.S. this November for a short run of intimate shows in support of their upcoming album Limit Of Love, out October 9. The tour starts on November 11 at Rough Trade in Brooklyn, NY and ends November 22 at the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, OR. On November 16, Boy & Bear will play School Night at Bardot in Los Angeles as part of Red Bull Sound Select’s 30 Days In LA.
For the follow-up to 2013’s acclaimed (and #1 in their native Australia) Harlequin Dream, Boy & Bear decided to take the momentum they had gathered on the road – 170 shows across three continents in one year – directly into the studio. They teamed up with renowned producer Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams, Kings of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs) with the intention of cutting a record the old fashion way, live in the studio (vocals and all), straight to tape, with virtually no overdubs.
Lead single “Walk The Wire” is the ultimate reward for trying something different – a dirty, danceable, synth-tinged romp that opens an exciting new chapter for the band. The accompanying video, which comes courtesy of award-winning Aussie creative house Oh Yeah Wow (Gotye, Aloe Blacc, Hermitude), also showcases a more playful side of the gents. “The clip was a lot of fun to make. The concept was simple: Start off on the moon of course!” laughs lead singer Dave Hosking. “Then have Killian explode, catch on fire and horrendously maimed, have Killian replaced by animated Killian who then turns evil and creepy, have us clearly unimpressed with things and then have the entire crew and clip descend into brilliant entertaining anarchy!”
Named one of USA Today’s “5 Australian Acts You Need To Know Now,” Boy & Bear saw huge success in North America in 2014 with single “Southern Sun” from Harlequin Dream, which was Top 5 on the Triple A Top 30 Chart for five consecutive weeks. The band made their U.S. late night TV debut last summer on CONAN, as well as appeared on NPR’s “World Café With David Dye” and VH1 Big Morning Buzz. In their home country, Harlequin Dream debuted at #1 on the ARIA Top Albums Chart and was certified Platinum.
Boy & Bear is Dave Hosking (lead singer/guitars), Killian Gavin (guitars/vocals), Tim Hart (drums/vocals), Jon Hart (keys/vocals) and Dave Symes (bass/vocals).
