“With Boxed In, Bayston comes as close as anyone in creating cerebral dance pop that works for the non-EDM dance music enthusiast as much as the experimental electronic rock enthusiast.” — Under The Radar

“SXSW New Favorite Band Alert” – KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic

“The live project of producer Oli Bayston glides along on smooth basslines and skittering drums: ideal for dancing in wellies.” – Time Out London’s “Best Up And Coming Acts You’ll See Outside This Summer” (Summer Festival Preview)

“…a well-crafted set of piano-driven electro-pop combining house and motorik rhythms with driving piano, atmospheric synths, smooth vocals and catchy pop hooks.” —

“The debut album from Boxed In will enhance your life…Oli Bayston is an impressive songwriter and his piano-pinned dance-pop album carries zero duds.” – NME

UK songwriter/producer Oli Bayston will bring Boxed In to the States this summer for their first run of dates since they impressed at SXSW earlier this year. One of their biggest fans to come out of Austin was KCRW Music Director and Morning Becomes Eclectic host Jason Bentley, who invited the band to participate in KCRW’s free, all ages summer concert series, “Sound In Focus,” as support for TV On The Radio on Saturday, July 25 in Los Angeles. Boxed In’s tour launches July 20 in Seattle and also includes stops in San Francisco, Chicago, New York City and Brooklyn. All dates are below.

Boxed In has already sold out headline shows in and around London, as well as supported such acts as La Roux and Django Django on their respective sold-out London dates. Bayston has also had attention recently as the vocalist and co-writer on George FitzGerald’s critically lauded debut single “Full Circle.”

Oli Bayston is a UK-born songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who got his start in indie band Keith and has since collaborated with the likes of 2 Bears, Steve Mason, Willy Mason, Lianne La Havas, Lily Allen and more. Under the Boxed In moniker, Bayston combines his two greatest musical loves, Krautrock and house music, taking inspiration from the motorik rhythms of Can and Neu!, as well as house DJs like Pépé Bradock and Theo Parrish. Boxed In is intellectual without being pretentious, wide-ranging yet accessible and will unite club and indie-rock crowds in a way so few can do.
