Billy Raffoul Shares Ode to Canada with “Canadian” ;Self-Titled Album out 7/18

April 18, 2025 BY Emma Orland

Toronto soulful singer, songwriter, and producer Billy Raffoul is excited to share “Canadian,” a rock song touching upon the experience of many immigrants who left their home and everything they knew to build a life in a new country. The track is also dedicated to the place he calls home, his heritage, and his grandparents. “Canadian” is available on all streaming and digital platforms here.

He shares, “I think every Canadian is immensely proud of where they are from, and we are seeing that now more than ever. I can only call myself Canadian because it opened its doors to my grandparents when they were teenagers. Their story is like that of many Canadians. To me, Canada’s diversity and sovereignty make it the most beautiful country in the world. One I am proud to call home.”

“Canadian” follows the announcement of his new self-titled record, Billy Raffoul, which will be released July 18, 2025, via Nettwerk. The record expertly marries his heartfelt vocals with intricate guitar work, and Billy Raffoul is making his closest connection with this new collection of songs. Telling universal stories soundtracked by unshakable melodies, Billy Raffoul strikes an intimate chord, tapping into the feelings and experiences we all share no matter where we call home. Concluding 2023, Billy canvased South Africa on tour. The experience affirmed the boundary-breaking power of music. Upon his return, he initially penned ideas at home before decamping to Los Angeles, where he worked with producer Davis Naish.

Billy shares, “This is a very intentional record. I went on tour to South Africa last year, and it was amazing to see how some love songs resonated with people on the other side of the world. Afterward, I thought, ‘I want to make an album full of these songs that have resonated with people on the other side of the world.’ Musically, I wanted to explore more of the planet. I’ve showcased every part of myself in each song.”
