Australian Indie-Rock Trio LAST DINOSAURS Joins Nettwerk; Shares New Single + Announces U.S. Tour Dates!
February 11, 2022 BY Jason Currell
Today, Nettwerk Records is excited to add Brisbane indie-rock trio Last Dinosaurs to the roster. Comprised of brothers Sean and Lachlan Caskey along with Michael Sloane, they make their grand return with the release of the sizzling, anthemic gem “Collect Call.” The track is out now on all digital retailers (here).
Lachlan Caskey lends his insights into his mindset while writing the song:
“I felt like I saw a lot of depression during this time, like COVID, although barely existent in our state, had still taken its toll on people. People who I thought could be doing much better seemed to have not grown at all, seemed stagnant yet still ageing. It’s like even their stomping grounds were growing more than they could keep up with. Too much emotional history: grudges and ego defeats keeping them down.
Therefore this song is a heartfelt gesture of encouragement to those who feel a bit beaten down by their own self-sabotaging behaviors.”
Along with the new single release, the band will also be embarking on their first tour U.S. Tour since the pandemic starting in Chicago, IL at Bottom Lounge on May 31st. Check out the full list of tour dates below!

Australian indie-rock band Last Dinosaurs burst onto the scene after the release of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘In A Million Years’ that debuted at #8 on the Australian ARIA chart. The success of the album had them selling out shows across Australia as well as huge headlining tours and festival plays across the UK and Europe, Southeast Asia, and South Africa.
The band continued to win hearts in 2015 with ‘Wellness’ and then again with the much-heralded third album, ‘Yumeno Garden’. The first two singles “Dominos” and “Eleven” went straight to high rotation on Triple J, while the album tour sold out multiple venues in each city across Australia.
In December 2018, Last Dinosaurs announced their first-ever U.S. tour. After selling out dates in Chicago and Los Angeles in under a minute, the tour quickly expanded into 17 sold-out shows around the country. Last Dinosaurs went on to do two more sold-out tours of the U.S. and Canada including a 21-date headline tour playing bigger and more iconic venues such as Webster Hall, Fonda Theatre, and The Fillmore. Soon after, the UK & EU came calling as the band sold out a European tour through Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, and two nights in London. To cap it all off, they followed with a hugely successful run through Southeast Asia.
Last Dinosaurs have also supported international acts such as Foals, Matt & Kim, Lost Valentinos, and Foster the People, playing festivals including Splendour In The Grass, Laneway, Falls Festival, and Field Day to name a few.
After the emergence of the pandemic and under the constraints of COVID lockdowns, the band retreated to studios in Mexico and Australia, to write and record new music.
Stay tuned for more from Last Dinosaurs.
