ASH LUNE DELIVERS THE MIND PALACE EP TODAY

November 4, 2022 BY Jason Currell

2022 was promised as a year full of music for Ash Lune and it culminates today with the release of her second EP The Mind Palace (listen in full here).

Containing earlier released singles ‘Autophobic’ and Sugarcoat and today’s focus track ‘Loom’, the 5-track EP contains “something for everyone” says Lune. “My favourite part of this EP is how each song is so different. You can hear me get more comfortable and experiment with sounds in this EP. It’s called The Mind Palace because it reflects the different sounds and sides of Ash Lune. It definitely shows off my personality as a walking contradiction haha. It’s like peeking into different rooms in a long alleyway.” Continues Lune, “This EP is also very important because my next body of work is an extension of one of these sounds in The Mind Palace. You can take a guess as to which one it is.“

The Mind Palace features production from Sam de Jong (Pale Waves, Robinson, Rudimental), Tom Eggert (Cub Sport, Vancouver Sleep Clinic), Robby De Sa (MAY-A, The Veronicas) and Joseph de la Hoyde, and was mastered by Chris Gehringer at Sterling Sound.

It follows on from Lune’s debut, Broken Science Experiments which was released earlier this year and featured singles ‘Sleepwalk’, ‘Panic At The Party’ and ‘Before. Lune made her live debut playing the triple j unearthed stage at Bigsound in September as the winner of their Bigsound competition.

Since her appearance on the music scene in 2021, Ash Lune has won fans from the likes of Notion, The Forty-Five, Rolling Stone India, DIY and more. Her music has received airplay from across the world including Jack Saunders at BBC Radio 1 UK, and KCRW in the U.S.

Although deeply contemporary, there’s a timelessness to Lune’s music that belies its creator’s tender years. Across her music, Lune excavates the deepest recesses of her heart in order to create music that speaks to everyone, across seas, across cultures, and across all walks of life.
