The Franklin Electric

The Franklin Electric is a Montreal-based JUNO nominated alternative/indie-folk collective, formed by vocalist and frontman Jon Matte. Since emerging in 2014 with their debut album This Is How I Let You Down, The Franklin Electric has logged nearly 400 shows, canvassing the world alongside everyone from Mumford & Sons and Ben Howard to Edward Sharpe and City and Colour.Along the way, 2017’s Blue Ceilings marked a major milestone. Not only did the record produce favorites such as “I Know The Feeling” and “Someone Just Like You,” but it also led to a nomination at the 2018 JUNO® awards in the category of “Breakthrough Group of the Year.”In 2021 TFE shared ‘This Time I See It,’ perhaps the band’s most evocative project yet. “I wanted to make something warm, something honest that hopefully rings true to people’s hearts," says Jon about the new album. "This project is about change and letting go of old ideas, seeing things with a new perspective. Things are changing and renewing constantly, what you know one day is not the same the next. "This Time I See It" has a real analog feel to it, a bit 70s at times with tape machine and classic pre-amps and mics mixed together with some more modern sounds.”
