tender spring

tender spring is the genreless moniker of artist David Tanton, one-third of indie band Afternoon Bike Ride. Based in Montreal, the eclectic musician provides and welcomes a melting pot of bedroom pop, lofi beats, jazz, ambient, rock, and more. He began releasing music under this alias in 2019 with successful EPs five sunsets and Ages Ago (with producer Flovry). He followed this up in 2020 with two collaborative projects alongside Chris Mazuera: the six song EP Perspective (Lofi Girl), and the full-length album Staying In (Memoir Music). With many EPs and collaborations along the way, including EPs with mommy and Blurred Figures, as well as a collaborative LP in 2021 with numerous friends (Blue Wednesday, Towerz, INKY!, another silent weekend, Tatami Construct, chief., biniou, edelwize), tender spring is ready to release his debut full-length album. Outside guests, yes, but 100% tender spring. ‘You are now listening to ‘a tender spring’” is his two-sided offering, 13 songs with just as many genres, all fitting nicely and cohesively within the tender spring universe. Gentle, comforting, and yes, tender.
